remember back in, like, early 2010, when Bros Icing Bros was a thing?
unfortunately, among chris's friends, it is Still A Thing. which is why a few weekends ago, when we all went down to florida, alarmingly large portions of our time were spent doing this:
(obviously, we were usually correct in that assumption.)
there was a lot of icing, is my point. i was lucky enough to escape being iced by the much-reviled green apple variety, at least. AND i only got iced once - i don't have a picture of the one guy who was iced THREE TIMES while we were there, which is too bad.
i don't know how many of you have been iced before (i'm guessing/hoping very few) but let me assure you, it is AWFUL. that stuff is sickeningly sweet, and more carbonated than you'd think possible. it burns. and then you burp a lot. it's attractive.
i can't even figure out how to end this post. i'm amused & ashamed in equal measures. i would say "friends don't let friends get iced," except that in this case it was EXCLUSIVELY friends letting other friends get iced. i guess: try not to get iced, folks.
I find it kind of funny that icing is now something you *don't* want, whereas that was all we drank in high school. Not that that says much for our taste.
ReplyDeleteUgh we used to LOVE this stuff in high school, and now just the thought of it makes me stomach turn. I'm glad you only got iced once!
ReplyDeleteYou know you're old when you learn about fads a couple years after they're popular. Welcome to my world.
ReplyDeleteUm... I guess I need to google some stuff... Clearly, I am out of touch.
ReplyDeleteTake comfort in knowing I would never ice you dear friend. You just DON'T do that to friends.

I know I'm old because I have no idea what icing is. :D
ReplyDeleteI have been iced. And I have been a part of a bar-0going grouped that iced one another so many times that the bartender ran out & started serving us Mike's Hard Lemonade, but we were already so drunk from the icing that we didn't notice the switcheroo until we saw the Mike's in photos the next day.
ReplyDeleteHey, I know people who still think "Wazzuuuuup" is a thing.
ReplyDeleteI...I have never heard of this. Serves me right for being old.
ReplyDeleteI guess I am old and not hip because I'd never heard of this before. What I find most amusing is that one girl in the photo who is randomly without clothing. Hilarious! Looks like a fun icy time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of this, but according to the article, it started at my alma mater. I'm SO proud! :)
