friday five

the friday five seems to be a popular way to go on fridays, and since i'm feeling singularly uninspired today.... friday five, here i come!

1. fall is not fooling around - it is HERE. it's been chilly and overcast / drizzly the past two days. i wore a jacket to work today. i LOVE it. it makes me want to light candles and snuggle under blankets when i get home at night.

2. it does NOT make me want to exercise, apparently. i have fallen off that wagon big time. i halted the physical activity after the last round of sprains until i could verify that i hadn't shredded my tendons for good... and then.. uh... never really started up again. i went running earlier this week, though, and i am determined to get this back under control. i feel so much better about myself when i'm active. and when i have muscles in my arms.

3. the ankle, however, is doing very well. i've been going to physical therapy twice a week to strengthen it the eff up, so it stops collapsing on me right and left, and progress is definitely being made. it was pretty embarrassing at first, though. but hey! i am getting WAY better at balancing on uneven surfaces! go me!

4. my lovely friend olivia is getting married tomorrow. i'm so excited for her, and can't wait to go to the wedding. she and her fiance are adorable and SUPER perfect for each other. the only crappy part is that another friend is getting married the same day, in north carolina... so i'm missing that one. merde. so: i can't wait to go to olivia's wedding tomorrow, and i can't wait to see picture's from jen's wedding very soon.

5. oh hey, so i can totally see the metro from my house, guys! i'm going to build them a whole new metro line tonight when i get home, because hel-LO, i live RIGHT THERE, i think i'm qualified to build a metro by now, don't you?

  1. That's crazy to think fall is in full force where you are ... and it's totally not here. This weekend, weather will continue to be sunny and in the 70s/80s. I've got to admit, I'm kind of happy to hang onto summer for another week or so.

  2. Maybe you could try exercising in the pool? That is what my mom kept telling me when I was complaining about my hip! :P

Weddings are so fun! Have a great time tomorrow :)

  3. Ok I need summer to come back because I, um, sort of missed it around here. We had like a week of hot weather? This is DC! I thought summers were suppose to be hot!

I hope your ankle keeps getting better with the therapy. Just be careful on it!

Oh and lastly please take pics of the wedding and tell us all about it next week! Enjoy!

  4. I had to stop doing the Famous Shred because of unbearable knee pain. It's depressing.

  5. I'm glad that I'm one of the first of my friends to get married. No date conflicts, and everyone is still fresh and excited about weddings.

  8. Fall is still masquerading as summer here. Which is fine, but I could go for a little more of a chill in the air. Oh well. I'll be complaining about this once winter shows up, so I should just stop complaining and enjoy it.
