* i am so paying for the anger-fueled kickboxing class. i was not aware i had this many muscles in my back that could hurt this much at the same time.
* on my way out for lunch today, a guy got on the elevator with me. we both got on at the same floor, and we were both headed to the ground floor. but i had my coat on and was rooting through my purse for my car keys, so obviously i was about to leave. then he goes, "so is it still windy out?" i just sort of looked at him blankly for a second, because.. dude. clearly i'm on my WAY outside, not COMING from outside. how the hell am i supposed to know if it's windy?
* it is totally still windy out. am feeling validated in my grump-induced decision this morning not to do my hair, because holy heck would it have been for naught today. gustarific.
* i went and bought Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal during lunch, because tessie brought it up today and it reminded me how i've been meaning to read this book for YEARS. i got about 10 pages in while i was waiting for my car's oil to be changed, and i'm already hooked. yay new book!
i apologize for the blatantly pointless nature of today's post. i'm trying to get back into the habit of posting regularly. it turns out there may be a GOOD REASON why i don't post every day, though? maybe because i don't have ANYTHING OF INTEREST to say some days? fascinating concept. i'll ponder it.
But, clearly you do have a purpose. To share life's little nuances with us ... and of course to pass on recommendations for good books. Duh!
ReplyDeleteDammit. Now I want to read this book.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the wind...I am about to rip my freakin' hair out.
I love when people ask weather related questions you can't possibly be expected to know. Yesterday we were expecting a storm and I was asked "When is it going to start snowing?"
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a good new book to make my day. It can cure just about anything...as long as i have the time to actually read it!
ReplyDeleteWas the guy just trying to talk to you?
ReplyDeleteI get around that hair thing by, you know, not having much hair to worry about.
ReplyDeleteI loved Lamb - and most of Christopher Moore's other books as well. Dirty Job and Fluke were great, too.
Ummm, that guy was trying to hit on you. Very subtle.
ReplyDelete~Jef
You will have to give us a review when you finish the book, because after reading that Tessie is reading it and now you? I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteLamb is a GREAT book - I laughed out loud a couple of times
ReplyDeleteOoh, yikes on the house stuff (I went back and reread).
ReplyDeleteAlso, I dont' think there's anything that can be said about January or February, so you did good by having anything worth saying.
