procrastination takes coordination

after a mildly snarky (and only somewhat joking) comment from matt that i needed to change my blog address to "alicedoesntblog.blogspot.com," i realized it was perhaps time for a new post ;-P

so. remember ages ago i said i had to blog about matt's christmas present to me because, oh my god? yeah. still true. and i finally took some pictures last night. and people? oh my god. matt rocks.

correction: I ROCK! well, i WILL rock, anyway! with these drums, i will become an AWESOME WAY COOL ROCKER CHICK and start a band and did i mention oh my god? A DRUM SET! FOR ME!! i've always wanted to be a drummer! (i don't know why. i get the definite impression this isn't normal. matt's roommate told a girl he was seeing what matt got me for christmas and she was all "uh.. just so you know... i'd NEVER think that was a good christmas present, ok?")

i am sooooo going to be able to rock out. very soon. i have had exactly 2 drum lessons so far (because matt ALSO got me drum lessons!) and a third coming up tonight, so as of now i can.... vaguely rock. -ish. i can pebble out.

BUT. dude. i will so be a gnarly drummer chick. SOON. ANY DAY NOW. i love my drums. :-)

  6. I have to admit, darlin', I might have had a little teensy-weensy, tiny, microscopic even, (ok, just pretend the next two words are tiny b/c it won't let me use html to make them that way) ulterior motive. (/pretending) Because, well, drummer chicks are H-O-double-T, so I'm growing my own - even if she can only "pebble out" for now. You're still pretty fun... most of the time. Dork.

  9. What a fantastic present!

So... when you are sat there at your drums whose performance do you picture in your head and imagine you are replaying? Go on... admit it... there is one... I know...

  10. We'll all get free tickets to your shows, right? And backstage passes?

First he buys you drums and then he gets to you to blog. Matt does, indeed rock.

  14. Hey Alice,
Nice pic of your gear. Good set and nice cymbols and stick bag. THINGS to remember and ALWAYS have.
Drum key in pocket and Shades in your stick bag. A MUST and standard equipment for every true drummer. Not expensive ones. Just some cheap sturdy dark "Blues Brother" type shades. After a gig. Before and durring practice. Meeting the fans and groupies. They are a must....
