ages ago, when i lived in a crappy house, i also had some less-than-stellar roommate issues. the straw that broke the camel's back was when i came back from a weekend away one time and discovered that my dad's guitar - which i kept in my bedroom - had been "borrowed" while i was gone. i found it tossed aside, upside down on a couch in the basement, with 2 broken strings.
that was over four (!!) years ago. i've been saying "i really need to replace those strings!" for four years. but.. you know me. i'm not so good with the proactiveness.
however? i live with a very very sweet boyfriend who got it restrung for me, as a surprise.
------------------------------------
in about 12 hours, i should be boarding a plane to JFK, and then (many hours later) another plane to Rio de Janiero. i have confirmed flights and ticket numbers now (yay!) but the sole "confirmation" we have upon landing is the name of a hotel at which we ostensibly have reservations, and - supposedly - some dude will be waiting for us at the airport with our names on a sign to bring us there.
um. wish us luck.
however, all the bad mojo for this trip HAS to be used up already, right?? i hope to have nothing but amazing stories and photos for you when i return in two weeks!
Have a very, very safe flight and lovely wonderful time over there!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, he's a keeper! :)

My husband is a play-by-ear strummer. I love to hear him pick it!
Have fun!! I'm so glad it's worked out (uhh, and crossing my fingers that the hotel bit actually does work out!)
