It's almost Rally time!! and October's charity

my body, always the jokester, has chosen the weekend of not just halloween, but also the rally to restore sanity (slash to keep fear alive) to succumb to its annual Fall Sinus Infection. i am not amused. however, i AM refusing to let my body dictate my actions this weekend (famous last words) so my plans to attend the rally tomorrow remain in place. as do my plans to attend a halloween party at my friend derek's house tomorrow.

except here's the thing: chris and i are both going to the party, but not together. i'll be coming from home (post-rally) and he'll be coming from dinner with friends. but then we're both playing frisbee the next day at noon, so it would make sense to go back to the same house... but also have frisbee stuff for both people already at that house... and also we'll probably want to metro back if we're drinking... and also we should go to his house since he has a friend in town... and also he'll need to drive to derek's house, since he'll need to bring his costume and not wear it to a nice dinner first...

trying to work out the logistics of this was hurting my poor sinusy head, so i finally cut out little representations of our cars, our frisbee stuff, and our costumes, to help me figure out what had to go where when.

it was sad. but effective! i know know i need to drive my car and frisbee gear to chris's house before getting on the metro to attend derek's halloween party. i realize normal people could have figured this out without requiring action figures, but i'm not at my best here, ok?

do you guys remember earlier this month when marie posted about the homeless people in her neighborhood? it hit me pretty hard - it's one of those thing i could be doing far, FAR more about, but something i usually choose to ignore instead. so october's donation will be to So Others Might Eat (SOME), a DC-based oragnization that provides not just food, but shelter, medical & dental care, counseling, and job training to individuals on our community. you can donate here if you'd like.

  2. I love the little pieces of paper. And the charity of the month. And the fact that you're going to the rally. Basically everything about this post except your sinus infection. I hope that clears up stat.

  3. Yup, I would have at least had to draw a diagram. I do not do logistics well, especially complicated ones. Have fun at the rally and good luck w/the sinus infection recovery!

  7. Apparently even your sinus infection wanted to go to the rally! I know my plantar fasciitis has big plans to attend.
Yikes! I forgot to make a sign! Better get crackin' on that one.

  10. Sometimes when you're sick your brain doesn't work without a little help :D
Do you give the same amount every month to your charities? or does it vary?

  13. If anyone gets a medal for rallying that would be YOU! Seriously, someone needs to give you an award. May Stewart should have given you one of those sanity medals.

    This weekend was EPIC.
