sorry i'm not home right now i'm walking in the spiderwebs

*tap tap tap*

oh. um, hi. is this thing on?

i seem to have taken an involuntary hiatus from the interwebs for the past.. oh.. week or so. typically when i do that, it's just because i'm being lazy about coming up with anything interesting to say,* but i still read blogs and leave comments. this past week though... eek. yeah. um, how have your weeks been? because i don't know, since i haven't been reading any blogs. oopsie. if it didn't happen on twitter during the last 10 days, i probably don't know about it.

*isn't that sad, by the way? that the stuff i post here is the INTERESTING stuff? heh.

incidentally, if you ever need something ELSE online to take the place of, say, Anything Useful At All, might i recommend this little game?

so! since i last graced you with my presence, i:
*successfully read at liz's wedding without being struck by lightening OR providing steve jobs with a new apple product idea (@hotchpotchery: HAHA!);
*made friends with the extended family of the groom at that wedding, who are mauritian, and ended up - without the bride or groom, mind you - at their rental house for a wedding post-party until 4am;
*went on a very confusing date at 2941 (although the food was pretty darn good) (more on this at a later date, perhaps);
*attended another wedding this weekend where the wedding sermon included what i believe to be the only mention of waterboarding during a wedding, EVER, followed by a post party game of landmines that left me unable to walk straight (slash at all) and with a hangover that lasted until 5p on sunday.
so, you know. i've been keeping myself busy when not obsessively playing jewel quest at work. but i'll be back to blog reading / commenting now! hopefully! maybe!

  5. I'm kinda bummed that you did not break into a recitation from I, Robot at the wedding.

  6. I've always managed to escape reading at weddings. Usually because when people ask me, I wrinkle up my nose and whine, "Welllll, I guess soooo...if you can't find anyone else."

  7. So did they waterboard the preacher or the groom? Or was it someone's future MIL?
    The afterparty sounded fun (more on this?) and I can't compete with all that... nor can I compete with jewel quest. My husband was addicted to that for a while, too.

    I went on a 3-day girls' weekend in Texas. If you get a really generous guy pouring the wine at wine-tasting, you can get buzzed enough to buy 6 bottles of $15-20 wine. And then I drank a bottle of Syrah myself that evening. Because, YUM!

    I'll blog it soon. Probably tomorrow for the WWC.
    And I haven't forgotten we need to plan a NoVA get-together!

  9. I'm still trying to find the correct tie-in to wedded bliss and waterboarding... am I missing something? (Or just incredibly stupid?)

    So glad you're back.
