the little weekend that could

at 4:30pm last friday afternoon, i had literally no plans for the entire weekend. on the one hand, it was kind of exciting, because my weekends tend to be jam packed, and i already know the subsequent two weekends are going to be taken up by weddings. on the other hand, i was starting to feel sort of lonely and loserish. NO PLANS for the entire weekend? with NO FRIENDS? sniffle!

final weekend tally: went out on friday night, saturday night, and twice on sunday. huh.

friday night was spent with some fun girls i don't see very often, checking out the newish place eventide in clarendon for a few drinks, then hitting up a private club in georgetown (OOOH!! FANCY!!) where one of the girls is a member. i was assured all the men who frequented this secret private club were very rich. unfortunately, they were also mostly old and not cute.

saturday afternoon i finally went and bought a darn dress for these upcoming weddings - i'm reading in the one this weekend! - at the Best Store In The Universe, white house black market. this is what i got:

it looks awesome on me. you'll just have to trust me on this.

saturday night i spent a delightful evening with marie, out at rira chatting it up until the band got too loud to talk, then dancing away in our little corner for the rest of the night. it was SO what i needed. marie, we are totally doing that again soon :-)

sunday afternoon i ended up with a last minute date at carpool to play shuffleboard. turns out i'm secretly amazing at shuffleboard, because i beat my date 4 games to 0. heh. who knew? i should take this skill on the road or something. and finally, on sunday night one of my highschool friends i rarely get to see was in town with his boyfriend, so along with my highschool bff and her hubs, we all met up at busboys and poets on u street for a late dinner. it was short but sweet, and really nice to see him.

i even vacuumed my house and did some dusting in there as well. weekend: WIN.

  1. It was so great hanging out with you too lady! I think we may need to see a certain movie with a hunky man in it by the name of Hugh Jackman sometime soon?

Love, love the dress! You are going to look awesome in it. :)

  3. Sunday, I didn't even put on pants. I didn't talk to a single human being all day.

Possibly, it was time to recharge my batteries.

  8. That dress + wedding = taking care of problem written about last week.

Hopefully you can put that equation to work for you. Or maybe beating someone 4-0 at shuffleboard will help.

How was Eventide? (and who was in town from HS, anyone I know?)

  9. Oooh, the red shoes suggestion is awesome.

I have been looking for dresses for the last 2 weeks and it sucks. I love this one!

  10. Weekends with nothing planned are the best, because you have no expectations to meet! Sounds like you made the most of no plans and ended up with no free time!

  11. Ugh I went into a BHBM outlet store 2 weeks ago (in Eastern Shore MD across the bay bridge). I don't know how I made it out of there alive.
