my! SOMEONE was quite the crankypants yesterday, wasn't she? i am pleased to report - for both your sake and mine - that i am in a vastly improved mood today. many irritants have been removed from my life:
a) hot water! it is back! i called a hot water heater repair company, they came over within about 2 hours, and fixed the heater about 20 minutes after that. and my landlord paid for it directly so it wasn't even any money out of pocket for me.
b) turns out the heater thingy is also tied into my REAL heat, and that's why it was so effing cold. last night was a VAST improvement. i had been waking up at night because one arm would snake its way out of my covers while i was asleep, and it would be so painfully cold that i would WAKE UP. (we once had a tree fall on our house and completely splinter our deck. my mom thought we were bombed; i did not wake up. so this should let you know just how cold my arm was.) but this morning? i woke up and BOTH my bare arms were outside my covers! and i was ok! heat: it's, like, totally awesome!
c) there was this work thing, which i won't get into, but let me assure you: definitely impacting the CrankyPants mood around here. i believe one of my coworkers may have told me i was acting like a teenager due to all the misplaced angst. however! situation: resolved; crankypants level: diffused.
d) i sent match boy (hmm, we need a better name for him... let's go with... Eagles Fan. yeah?) a quick email yesterday, and he called back again last night. we have another date for sunday :-)
now i just need to get a handle on my xmas shopping, and i'll be freaking ecstatic. i have a Shopping Trip Of Doom set up with my highschool bff on saturday (read: we're braving a mall) and hopefully i'll knock off the majority of stuff while i'm there. i just have to, uh, come up with ideas for everyone before then. fingers crossed.
You make me wanna try this match.com thing.
ReplyDeleteYay second date! Yay heat! Go you!
ReplyDeleteI think I caught your cranky.

A mall? On a Saturday in December? You ARE brave!
ReplyDeleteI ditto Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteYou've gone from cranky to crazy!!
But I'm glad you have hot water and heat in your apartment again. :)
Awaiting a match boy Eagles Fan update on Monday! (This dating thing is fun, from a distance)
I agree with kcinnova. I do NOT want to have to date again, but I love reading your experiences. Where are "we" going on Sunday?
ReplyDeletei can't imagine you or amanda shopping. wow.
ReplyDeleteso glad you are feeling better!

less stabby is good. Heat is good. Second dates are good. happy day :)
ReplyDeleteYay for better moods!
ReplyDeletei'm glad i'm not the only one that acted like a teenager when they are cranky. haha
ReplyDeleteOther date? What are you planning on wearing?
ReplyDeleteYay for heat and Yay for second date!
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like things have improved dramatically! Great!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got your hot water back, life without hot water isn't worth living - especially in winter.
ReplyDeleteThank heavens about the hot water and hot house! :) This isn't the same thing AT ALL, but the train I ride refused to turn the heating on until far too late. I always sleep on the train in the mornings, and I was so cold, I couldn't fall asleep. It sucked.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about the shopping and the date ;)
That date was a few days ago. It must have gone exceptionally well if you're not back, yet.
