hnt from back in the day..

you know how some girls just totally know they're beautiful? they've known it from about the age of 12, because it's true, and because boys have been tripping over their own feet trying to talk to them for as long as they can remember?

uh, yeah. that wasn't me.

i'm aware that these days, i pass for pretty decent looking. i mean, it's been years since people cringed when i walked into the room. i am totally down with my body now, have a great body image blah blah blah... i just know where i came from. and thus am humbled.

i present to you: some extremely embarassing photos of Alice In Progress.

HOW HIGH are those shorts?? i mean seriously. SO HIGH. my lord. also, can you see how far my glasses extend past the edge of my face??

this was highschool. awww yeah. quite the sex kitten, as you can see :-)

er. yeah. folks, these aren't just fluke pictures that i found. these aren't exaggerations. sadly. :-) you know how everyone "goes through that awkward period"? uh.. yeah.. mine was from about the age of 8 to about the age of 20.

i am happy to report that thanks to the miracle of contacts, the removal of braces, and the onset of something magical called "puberty," this awkward period is now (mostly) in the past. although maybe not as distant as i might like.. :-)

  1. I hated the way I looked in my teens. I've come to grips with it and I filled out nicely too!

  2. I can totally imagine the Alice in the lovely blue shorts (and p.s., they HAD to be high, or else they'd be pants -- those are some loooong shorts) being chased by a rooster. Awesome.

  5. I could find pictures like that too!

And I can't imagine having to go through high school in this day and age. It was bad then, but it's even worse now.

    Happy HNT!

We should make this a theme for HNT one week sometime...everyone posts geeky pics from when they were younger.

    Happy HNT! :)

  10. Better build a bigger boat, 'cus I'm jumping in.

I, too, suffered the same adolescent fate.

    But DAMN, I got better!!

  11. it seems that those who were pretty early on also hit the skids early on. I have had occasion to run into some of our High School Hotties over the years. Many of them look like they had been ridden hard and put away wet. The more awkward of my peers seem to have developed a mature beauty. I am glad for them

At 5'11" I was always awkward and grew tired of hearing the Jolly Green Giant jokes. I may still be 5'11" but the jokesters are FAT.

33 years gone and I have not been to a High School reunion.,.....and never will

Sorry, you tapped a vein of vitriol in me

  13. OK ... well after careful examination... I am happy to report, that all the women on this blog comment have been officially vindicated from said previous geeky phase. From the innocents of the girl next door to the topless shots of Amber (that should get you a few more hits Amber) and yes even Alice is in a new Wonderland looking well past those early photo shoot days... yummy! Isn't time good for some! ;-)
