a la semaine prochaine, mes amis!

...cause i'm leaving for paris, bitches!!! YAAAAAAAAY! hopefully i won't come back on fire / scorched / rioted a la frenchies in some other way.

so last night i was packing up my stuff, as well as a number of items that my american-friend-in-paris requested i bring over from the good ol' US of A. turns out those items are kinda bulky. also her sister mailed me some clothes and stuff to bring over with me, too. normally, i pack a carry on, and ONLY a carry on. there is no trip under 2 weeks that i will ever take that i honestly believe needs a checked bag. i HATE checking bags. i worked throwing bags at philadelphia international airport for a few days last year... trust me, NEVER CHECK A BAG. if you can at all avoid it, don't do it. you have to wait forever for the bag to show up on the carousel, and seriously? after seeing the inner workings of the PHL baggage area, i am truly shocked that ANYone gets their bag at the right destination at the right time. really. don't check. this has been a message from your friendly former airline employee. thank you!

so anyway, against my better judgement, i'm bringing an enormous must-be-checked bag, what with all the american food i'm bringing. "how much could you REALLY be bringing, alice?" you may ask. HA. i will show you.

exhibit a: the suitcase i packed last night.

exhibit b: the actual amount of stuff that is MINE in that suitcase.

what this REALLY means is that i now have a CRAPLOAD of room for bringing back french food / wine / clothing / everythingmoooooahahahahahaha in my suitcase. whee! la france! je viens! bientot... bientot.. i'll see you kiddos on tuesday. yeehaw :-)

  3. I don't know what I adore more - that you're going on a big adventure or the diagram of your packed suit case.

Are those pizza goldfish or cheddar?? I LOVE the pizza flavor...I could eat 3 bags in one sitting probably. Not that I've ever tried. But now that I mention it....

  6. Have fun my dear -- and think of me, your friend in Colorado who draws you amazing stick pictures, when you are buying French wine to bring home. In fact, if you have France adventures, I will do a stick drawing of those. I'm wearing a little sign right now that says "will draw for wine."

I like white wine. Especially champagne. : )

HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!!! BE SAFE!!! I'LL MISS YOUR FABULOUS WIT WHILE YOU'RE GONE!!!

  11. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I think the real reason, she is packing all that food stuff is that she's not to keen on eating snails and chocolate covered grasshoppers....
