WWC: heavy and light

this week's WWC words were heavy and light. and since i have not foisted any cat pictures on you recently, i thought this was an excellent chance to kill two birds with one stone.

some warnings / apologies beforehand: a) i'm sorry about the hair and outfit. i'd just been to the gym. focus on the cats. b) my bathroom came with that wallpaper, and i rent. i swear.

so! here we have a large, solid, heavy cat, who seems to have recovered completely from his drama (his poor poodle-forlocks are even growing back!):

..and here we have a still-teeny, very light kitten, who eats like a horse but apparently expends all her energy tearing around the house like a maniac / attacking oliver / attacking dust specks / jumping 6 feet when startled, since she doesn't appear to be using the energy to, say, grow:

kittens are endlessly hilarious, which is one of the reasons they're so awesome. i can dangle a string in front of bella for HOURS ON END, and she'll spastically attack the crap out of it for EVER. the best part is that she's still clumsy and oblivious, so she falls off of tables and beds and sofas a LOT while she's busy attacking stuff. it's fantastic.

i had a second heavy/light photo set, BUT i'm a moron and didn't upload it to flickr, so it's sitting uselessly on my hard drive at home. oops. go see tink if you want to play...

  3. That pic of Oliver kills me. I can't believe how calm he is just hanging out. My cats would kick my ass if I tried to hold them with just one hand.

    So glad Oliver is better!!

  4. Oh! The poodle paws! Awesome!

You make me want to have kittens again. OK, maybe not "HAVE" kittens, but you get the picture.

We used to own a laser light pointer and a kitten. 'nuff said.

  6. I think everyone was using pets this week but me!! Chatty & Gary & you, and who knows who else! Alas, I couldn't catch my cat for a picture, so I was stuck with me on a scale and a Yoplait smoothie. Exciting, huh? I had to make up for my lame pictures somehow, so I'm glad you liked the Sesame Street videos. :)

Now I'm off to read what you've said about naked blogging...

  9. I like you more knowing you are a Nikon girl.

And great technique on the hold-the-camera-wrap-around-style.

And no one has noticed your shirt:

  11. Kitties!!! It's amazing to me that kittens can play with ANYTHING. Ours used to love playing with one of my running shoes. Or also lint on the floor.

  12. I have that old skool song from SS playing through my head... "One of these things is not like the other-" I have no idea why. Maybe because it's funny that you have two totally different size cats. Like you thought one day, "Hm. I think I'll have one of both." ;)

  13. Adorable! Is Bella siamese? It seems like siamese cats stay slender all their lives. I've never seen a fat one!

  16. Well it's obvious you'd been to the gym otherwise you'd have never had the strenght to lift Oliver.

  17. Awww man, you and The Potter both did the heavy and light cat thing. It never dawned on me to do that. I LOVE IT!

  18. Ah my god that kitten is just so cute! And drama cat's front legs are hilarious... Hilarious in a hideously expensive way of course.

  19. I want to steal your kitten.

Also, I'm glad Oliver is better. From your descritpions, he sounds like my cat Booger. Annoying, kinda stupid (although stupid like a fox?) and the sweetest cat ever!

  20. Oh, kittens are wonderful until they grow up. I know, I know, YOUR cat is different. That's what they all say. :)
